Brooklin Models

Twentyfive years ago Brooklin Models was started by John Hall in the basement of his home in the small village of Brooklin, Ontario, Canada. Since then the company has become the Worlds leading manufacturer of hand built 1/43 scale collectible model automobiles. From humble beginnings Brooklin now occupies a modern 10,000 sq. ft factory in Bath, England. The company is assisted by, now, two collectors clubs in both the UK and the USA and these have helped them shoot to stardom.

what is a hand-built scale model ?

Many new collectors ask Brooklin, what is the difference between hand-built scale models and die cast toys and 'collectors' models. The main difference is that Brooklin Models, being hand-built, are produced in smaller batch runs, the average run being only 3000 pieces spread over several years. They also produce special limited editions from time to time in quantities of 1000 or less, models are deleted from the range periodically and are supplied to every country in the industrialised world!

By comparison, die cast toys and models are produced in hundreds of thousands and often millions. This naturally leads to Brooklin Models having much higher rarity value. While no company can of course guarantee investment it is a fact that any limited edition or deleted Brooklin Model has increased its value sometimes as much as 20 times it original selling price. Obviously being hand made their models cost more than the mass produced die casts items, production is slower and materials are more expensive, they use no plastics (with exception of window glazing). Our models have a wonderful weight and feel.

An ongoing series of 1/43 scale models of classic and special interest American Automobiles. Models from the Brooklin Collection are fully finished and ready for display. They are precision cast in heavy white metal from hand crafted patterns. All models have chromed bright-work, white wall tyres applicable, simulated glass windows and are individually painted in authentic colours. The evolution of style and design are represented by four decades of the American automobiles from the 1930s to the 1960s with new models being introduced on a regular basis. The Brooklin Collection is acknowledged as being the best value-for-money hand-built models in the world.
